King and Queen of Spain will visit Zacatecas

The state government of Zacatecas confirmed that King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain will visit the state, within the framework of their first state trip to the Americas on July 1.

This would be the second time that a Spanish monarch visits Zacatecas. In 1997, Juan Carlos I was present at the First International Congress of the Spanish Language, held in the state.

The state government, headed by Miguel Alonso Reyes, will work in coordination during the visit with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Antonio Meade Kuribrena.

The Spanish royal couple will also visit Mexico City.
