Hay Festival's third edition will take place in Querétaro from September 6 to 9
, with Patti Smith , an iconic musician, artist, writer, and photographer, as the main guest.
In a statement released by the festival organizers, it's been revealed that they expect to attract over 27,000 attendees, and over 100 artists and thinkers from all over the world will participate.

, the event organizer, says that “Hay Festival's purpose is to bring the different communities in the city closer with a program that combines quality, diversity in topics, dialogues and passion for culture . Querétaro is, without a doubt, the perfect scenario.”
The full program, which includes thinkers, writers, journalists, poets, scientists, and humanists, will be announced on July 17 through their website and social media accounts.
Patti Smith is a multifaceted artist
, whose influence in various disciplines has been outstanding. Her work has served and continues to be an inspiration for people and artists all over the world.
Smith was born in Chicago in 1946. She recorded the renowned album "Horses", released in 1975 , and her long musical career earned her a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
This year she will visit Querétaro for the first time. She will present a poetic performance , where she will reference her lifetime in music and art, including the poem she wrote for Roberto Bolaño.
Smith will also sit down for a talk to discuss her fascinating and decades-long career .
