The American rock band The Killers did a collaboration with the movie director Spike Lee for the production of a music video for their latest song “Land Of The Free,” a song of protest against the wall that President Donald Trump wants to build at the Mexico-U.S. border .
The director of “Do the Right Thing” and “Malcolm X” was given full creative freedom to work with “Land Of The Free,” a song that the band from Las Vegas describes as “a sincere lament inspired by recent events and national tragedies in the United States.”

Lee recorded the video at the end of 2018 near the U.S. southern border, capturing scenes of real migrant families as they headed towards the “land of the free.” It shows people of all ages embarking on a dangerous journey towards a better future, repressed by U.S. border security forces.
Nominated for the British BAFTA awards for his latest film “BlacKkKlansman,” Lee had previously traveled with other musicians such as Michael Jackson.
U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded Congress for USD$5.7 billion for a border wall , a proposition that the house of representatives has so far rejected. The impasse has led to the longest partial government shutdown in American history.
