Juanpa Zurita chosen to star in Mexican film

Mexican celebrity Juanpa Zurita

was offered the leading role in a comedy called “Más que mil palabras” (More Than a Thousand Words) .

The movie will be Gerardo Gatica’s debut as a filmmaker . Gatica is known for producing Tales of an Immoral Couple , “Un Padre no tan Padre” (Not-so-cool Dad) , and Alonso Ruizpalacios’ latest film , “Museo,” starring Gael García Bernal .

Juanpa, aged 22

, is one of the best known influencers in Mexico, with over 5.2 million followers on Twitter and 8.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channel . He recently acted as the brother of Luis Miguel in the famous singer’s bio-series produced by Netflix .

Production for “Más que mil palabras” will begin next year, stated Gatica.

“I’m very fond of Juanpa, who I’ve known for several years now, and I am currently waiting for him to confirm his participation,” he stated.

“The movie is about a Mexican-American who lives in Los Angeles with his grandparents, who arrived in the U.S. illegally. The story tells about the character’s rekindling of his Mexican roots.”

Michael Castro, son of the famous actress Verónica Castro, will participate as cinematographer
