In September , the Mexican market produced 307,174 vehicles representing 7.7% growth, compared to September 2016, according to the Mexican Automotive Industry Association ( Asociación Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz abbreviated AMIA ).
Manufacturers with the highest production growth rate were Volkswagen ( 180.5% ) due to the Tiguan production in Puebla , followed by KIA ( 43.6% ) and Fiat Chrysler ( 30.9% )
Regarding exports, 270, 899 units were shipped abroad representing 15% increase compared to September 2016.
Automotive exports to the United States increased 7.8% , to Canada 9.2% and to Asia 133% .
Exports to Europe stand out since the exports increased 310% . Particularly, exports to Germany increased 3.4% , to Italy 0.8% and to France 0.5% .
Manufacturers with the highest export growth were Volkswagen ( 72.4% ), Mazda ( 60.3% ) and Nissan ( 38.1% ) while Ford reported 46.2% production decrease and 31.7% export decrease during September.
