A delegation from the United Kingdom , led by Liam Fox , British Commerce Minister, and Duncan Taylor , British Ambassador to Mexico, showed interest in the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of the New Mexico City International Airport (NAICM).

The diplomatic commission was received by Federico Patiño , general director of the Airport Group of Mexico City (GACM), the company responsible for the construction of the largest aeronautical infrastructure work in decades in the country.

The head of GACM explained to the British official the mixed financing scheme of the NAICM, made up of public and private resources.

The British trade minister showed interest in the constructive process of the NAICM, the number of companies required in its construction, connectivity projects, mass public transport and the business scheme that would operate in the future.

With Britain's exit from the European Union , British and Mexican officials began an informal dialogue to establish a " transitional agreement " that would maintain free trade between the parties, Liam Fox said.

He said there is a strong relationship between the two nations, which will grow even more if efforts are redoubled.
