Life insurance for journalists requested

As a preventive measure, deputies from the Party of the Democratic Revolution and the Social Encounter Party presented a series of legislative proposals to consider journalism as a high-risk activity and grant life insurance to journalists.

For his part, the President of the Presiding Board, Mauricio Toledo , proposed reforms to the criminal code in terms of homicide and injuries to punish with rules and aggravations any crime that makes an attempt on the life of journalists.

According to the Party of the Democratic Revolution deputy, integral and multi-sector strategies are needed in which the three branches of the government participate in a coordinated fashion to implement public policies that prevent the murder of more journalist.
