California born actor and film producer, Vin Diesel, visited Mexico City’s National Auditorium Saturday, as part of the world premiere of “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”.
The film saga comes back to the big screen after fifteen years and includes an international cast of female characters: “The girls in this film are bad-ass, smart and pretty”, said 49-year-old Diesel of his co-stars.
Alongside American reggaeton singer and co-star Nicky Jam and actresses Nina Dobrev, Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose and former Miss Universe contestant Ariadna Gutiérrez, Diesel walked the red carpet, took selfies with his Mexican fans, took his shirt off and even found time to sing Happy Birthday to Bollywood co-star Deepika Padukone who turned 31 just last January 5.
“I have been to thousands of movie premieres in my life, but I haven’t been to one as big as tonight’s in Mexico City… I love you people, I love you Mexico!”, said a smiling Diesel, who took the stages with Nicky Jam to sing the theme “Without you”.
Diesel posted a photo in his Instagram account where he expressed his appreciation for the support of Brad Gray to the franchise and the warmth of Mexican audiences.
“xXx: Return of Xander Cage” director, D.J. Caruso looked pleased and showed interest in the possibility of adding a touch of Mexico in the film series: “Who knows, we might include a Mexican character in the next installment”, he concluded.
“xXx: Return of Xander Cage” will premiere next January 20.
