City councilman killed in State of Mexico

A group of gunmen killed Genaro González Hernández, City Councilman of Sultepec, State of Mexico.

According to initial reports, the councilman was ambushed on a stretch of the highway in Sultepec, located south of the State of Mexico, on the border with the state of Guerrero.

The attack occurred on Thursday, October 20 at 8:00 pm.

The Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), of which the councilman was member, issued a statement condemning the violent acts and demanding a prompt investigation as well as the arrest of the perpetrators.
