Arturo Vilchis, the general coordinator for Civil Protection in the State of Mexico, reported that the drain unclogging operations in the flooded areas of Tultitlán have advanced around 90%, but the garbage removal will continue in response to the massive rains on the previous day.
At least eight communities were flooded when the municipal drain was unable to process the rain because the garbage accumulation clogged it.
In a radio interview with Mexican commentator Carlos Loret de Mola, Vilchis said that the water levels exceeded two inches in areas like Huayamil, Buenavista, Ampliación Buenavista, Los Agaves, Bosques de Tultitlán, among others.
In Bosques de Tultitlán, up to 102 houses were flooded, with at least 30 with water levels over two inches.
