Journalist killed in the area of Tehuantepec

A journalist and the brother of another news professional were killed this afternoon in the area of the Tehuantepec Isthmus, according to the authorities in the state of Oaxaca.

Public security sources reported that journalist Eligio Ramos Zárate, known by the nom de plume Guillermo Parie, was reporting on a robbery in an OXXO store in the Juchitán-Ixtepec crossroad.

According to the report, the robbers shot at the reporter and killed him, along Raúl Cano, brother of Manuel Cano, editor of the Sur de Juchitán Newspaper. Ironically, Raúl Cano was not covering the robbery and was just sitting in a nearby bus station.

Also, another person was wounded by the robbers, who are reportedly on the lam.
