Presumed crime boss killed in Orizaba

The presumed leader of a local crime group was killed today during a clash with the authorities in the municipality of Orizaba, in the coastal state of Veracruz.

According to the state authorities, Luis Alberto Carrera Rodríguez, known as "El Negro," has been accused of several crimes.

The Department of Public Security reported that the authorities faced a criminal gang today at 3:50 a.m., during a police operation at a local nightclub which was closed to the public and "El Negro" was killed in the shootout.
