Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will hold a dialogue with Pope Francis when the head of the Catholic Church arrives at the International Airport of Mexico City.

According to the office of the Mexican president, the Pope's flight is expected to land after 7:30 p.m. in order to meet with Peña Nieto and first lady Angélica Rivera.

After landing, the Apostolical Nuncio in Mexico, monsignor Christophe Pierre, and ambassador Miguel Malfavón Andrade, head of protocol of the Mexican government, will board the ship to formally invite the Pope to come out.

The Pope will meet Peña Nieto and Rivera at the bottom of the stairs and will be received by children from the states of Oaxaca, Puebla, Veracruz, Jalisco y Tamaulipas, each one with the traditional attire from their regions and carrying a coffer holding dirt from Mexico, which will then be blessed by Francis.

Also, a group of Mexican singers will perform in honor of the Pope and then the prelate and the president will walk to the main hall of the presidential hanger in order to talk.
