A clinic for HIV patients was inaugurated today in Iztapalapa neighborhood in Mexico City.

With an investment of 80 million pesos (US$4.8 million), the clinic will serve around 15,000 patients a year.

Around 190,000 people have AIDS in Mexico. In 2013, 4,965 patients died in Mexico due to AIDS-related diseases.

The Jaime Sepúlveda Amor clinic, located at Vicente Guerrero apartment complex, was inaugurated by Mexico City mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera and César Antonio Núñez, representative of UNAIDS to Mexico.
