Mexico defeats Honduras 2-0

Jesús Corona and Jürgen Damm gave Mexico its first victory in Honduras, after 22 years of drought.

With this result, Mexico is placed with six points in Group A, after their previous triumph over El Salvador. The Hondurans have no victories after being defeated by Canada on the first date of the final qualifier to CONCACAF's best of six.

The game was characterized by failures and almost no activity for goalkeepers Alfredo Talavera and Noel Valladares.

Just 38 minutes into the game, Honduran Luis Garrido suffered a fracture in his right leg and was taken to a hospital.

"Tecatito" opened the score at 66, while Damm followed suit five minutes later.
