Alleged head of the Jalisco cartel under arrest

Mexican Federal Forces arrested Daniel Quintero Riestra, known as "El Dany Quintero", presumably one of the leaders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and one of the main 122 targets of security actions in this country.

The National Security Commissioner, Renato Sales Heredia, stated that the detainee was responsible for performing various crimes in the state of Jalisco.

According to information issued by Sales Heredia, the suspect is investigated for four murders, among them that of the former head of Tourism of Jalisco, Jesús Gallegos Álvarez, on March, 9 2013, and that of a Venezuelan model.

He was arrested in the state of Quintana Roo without a single shot, when he was on a ship some three nautical miles from Isla Mujeres.
