Oceanografía's associate arrested in Miami

Martín Díaz Álvarez, the alleged associate of Oceanografía was arrested in Miami, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) reported.

The PGR accused Díaz of being one of firm's associates who swindled Banamex out of approximately US$500 million.

He is also being investigated on suspicion of using a network of gas stations to launder money for organized crime.

Authorities indicated that Díaz will be transferred to Mexico City in the coming hours to be available to the federal judge who issued the arrest warrant since 2014.
