Colima volcano spews a kilometer high column of ash

Colima volcano spewed a kilometer high column of ash at 7:03 am, the national coordinator of Civil Protection, Luis Felipe Puente reported.

Puente urged people to stay informed about the conditions of the volcano and follow the directions of the Civil Protection authorities.

The active but isolated volcano is located approximately 500 kilometers west of the capital Mexico City and has erupted at least 30 times since 1585.
