U.S. visas stolen in Matamoros

A truck transporting U.S. visas for Mexican citizens was stolen in the border city of Matamoros, according to the American consulate in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

According to the official report, the truck travelling from the U.S. to the consulates of Monterrey and Guadalajara was kidnapped in northern Mexico and the visas stolen on June 7.

The Bureau of Consular Affairs of the State Department alerted the entry points to the U.S. in order to keep the visas and entry cards from being used.
