Israel Hernández Fabela, campaign manager for Aída Beltrán, candidate of the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to the Legislative Assembly for Azcapotzalco's third district, was killed last night.
According to the initial investigation the victim was found dead inside a van minutes after the candidate entered her campaign house on 133 Ebano Street, Petrolera neighborhood.
Witnesses say seven gunshots were heard.
Mauricio López, PRI chairman in Mexico City, condemned the murder and added that so far there are no signs that the crime was committed for electoral reasons.
