Velasco, López Obrador's #1 fan

Manuel Velasco Coello isn't done singing and celebrating. Despite his multiple activities, the Senator on leave, Chiapas Governor, and president of the Governors' National Conference, Mr. Manuel is constantly on tour, crooning Andrés Manuel López Obrador's actions. We're told that Velasco did so during a visit to Congress. He complimented the social programs that are being prepared for López Obrador's term, at the Social Development Commission in San Lázaro. Well, they tell us that we can only hope that the Senator on leave and Chiapas Governor doesn't drain himself with this so he arrives into López Obrador's inauguration with vigor and his Morena merchandise on, in December.

La Quina's son

By the way, Andrés Manuel López Obrador met with Joaquín Hernández Galicia's, La Quina, son, a local PAN deputy in Tamaulipas, Joaquín Hernández Correa. We're told that during the meeting between Mr. Andrés Manuel and Tamaulipas Governor, the PAN member, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, the PAN legislator was also in attendance, son of the former leader of PEMEX's union. And we have to remember that López Obrador has recently said that he won't jail politicians to legitimate himself. And since he was in Tamaulipas, they claim that the President-elect patched things up with the Governor, García Cabeza de Vaca, and even gave him a big hug.

The 2nd in charge at the PRI

We're told that things aren't changing at the PRI, among the militants and leaders there are those who say that it won't change until President Peña Nieto leaves his position in November. Earlier, the former senator and leader of the popular sector in the PRI, the CNOP, Arturo Zamora, announced that he was running for the General Secretary. And of course, nobody else signed up to compete for the position, and he will be anointed as the second in charge on Friday. Mr. Arturo, by the way, warned that the PRI must be run by the new generations.

Domestic workers' rights

The Second Chamber of the Supreme Court agreed with the minister Alberto Pérez Dayán to delay the discussion of the verdict about the domestic workers' rights. We're told that during a private session, the ministers agreed that the matter was quite complex. The minister Javier Laynez Potisek said that this is the most difficult case he has worked on during his career at the supreme court. Today, they explain, the pressure is on Pérez Dayán, who should consider the possibility of declaring the federal decision that establishes that bosses aren't forced to provide social security to their workers as unconstitutional. In this case, they reveal, it's possible that the Supreme Court will leave this matter on the hands of Congress, to create the necessary regulations to guarantee the working rights of domestic workers.
