The Nevado de Toluca is an excellent option to visit during winter , a destination that offers travelers outdoor adventures , as well as unparalleled panoramic views.

The Xinantécatl volcano , better known as the Nevado de Toluca , is located southwest of the state capital, in the municipalities of Toluca and Zinacantepec , and has an approximate altitude of 4,680 meters above sea level.

In the crater, there are two lagoons , called Sun and Moon , which are water deposits where, during the pre-colonial era, the inhabitants set up offerings of incense and various sacred objects.

The Nevado de Toluca National Park has an area of 51,000 hectares and is one of the most visited attractions in the country; in addition, on the slopes of the volcano , it has a recreation area called Parque de los Venados.
