President López Obrador to inaugurate new baseball stadium in Mexico City

, Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador will conduct the first pitch to inaugurate Mexico City ’s new baseball stadium.

The president’s office confirmed the attendance of the president to the inauguration event at the stadium that will bear the same name as the Diablos Rojos (Red Devils) team owner: Alfredo Harp Helú.

López Obrador will be the guest of honor during the first match between the Devils and the San Diego Padres .

The Alfredo Harp Helú stadium is meant to become a baseball temple in the Mexican capital and members of Mexico’s Red Devils and the San Diego Padres will cut the ribbon with their first throw.

The sports venue features a monumental triangle-shaped roof covering a structure of pre-Hispanic design, with capacity for more than 20,000 people .
