The musical monologue "Free Frida" (Frida libre), will premiere at The Trail Theater in Miami, Florida, on August 23, to pay homage to Frida Kahlo.
 

It's interpreted by Flora Martinez, who became famous after starring in "Rosario Tijeras", a telenovela.

The actress, who speaks English, French and Spanish, has traveled a lot with this musical and says she has always admired Frida Kahlo's work.

Under the direction of Jose Reinoso, and with dialogues written by Tomás Urtusástegui, which contains both biographical information and fiction, which tries to portray Kahlo's vision.

Through "Frida Libre", the public will be able to witness Kahlo's tragedies, success, her untameable spirit and her passionate lovers.

The musical has been presented in Colombia and Canada. For the remainder of the year, the show will travel to Germany, Central America, and Mexico.
