A family of seven was murdered in Guanajuato during deadly week

On June 18, a criminal group broke into a home in Celaya, Guanajuato . The criminals killed seven people, including a pregnant woman and a 2-year-old girl.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle on fire. Inside the home, they found the dead bodies of all seven family members.

In the same areas, a shooting was registered hours ago. An adult and a 6-year-old boy were attacked; the boy died and the man was wounded.

Sources from the local police said that the victims of both attacks are members of the same family ; nevertheless, authorities haven’t been able to establish a link between the two attacks.

On June 19, two men were shot dead inside a market in Celaya .

During the first four months of 2020, Guanajuato registered the highest number of homicide victims in the country: 1,534.

In early June, two officials from Guanajuato Attorney General’s Office were murdered only 24 hours after two police officers were shot dead. On the next day, five other people were murdered.
