Emilio Lozoya's lawyer officially asks Peña Nieto and Luis Videgaray to testify

's legal team has formally requested an Amparo Judge to summon former President Enrique Peña Nieto and f ormer Finance Minister Luis Videgaray Caso to testify as witnesses in the Agronitrogenados case.

, Emilio Lozoya's lawyer , confirmed to EL UNIVERSAL that he had filed a writ yesterday, so that authorities request former Energy Minister Pedro Joaquín Coldwell; Enrique Ochoa Reza , the former head of the CFE ; Miguel Messmacher , the former Undersecretary of Revenue from the Finance Ministry , and José Manuel Carrera Panizzo, the former director of PMI Internacional, a Pemex subsidiary .

The lawyer explained that if the Judge accepts the request, she will have to summon the former officials so that their testimonies are used by Lozoya's legal team as evidence in his favor after he was accused of money laundering .

The irregularities in the purchase of Agronitrogenados were reported by Pemex's legal representative in March. In consequence, the Attorney General's Office asked a judge to issue an arrest warrant against Emilio Lozoya , his sister Gilda Lozoya , and Alonso Ancir a, the owner of Altos Hornos de México , S. A. ( AHMSA ), the company that sold the fertilizer plant to Pemex .
