The "Soul of Dance" award recognizes the talent of people who have helped promote or improve the world of dance

Elisa Carrillo Cabrera, leading dancer of the Berlin State Ballet (Staatsballett Berlin) was decorated on Tuesday with the “Soul of Dance” award given by the Russian Federation’s Culture Ministry and the editors of the “Ballet” magazine. This is the most prestigious dance award given by Russia.

The magazine’s editorial board and the award’s creative council, consisting of a group of well-known Russian dance professionals, decided to give the award to the Mexican dancer for her work in “promoting the world’s classical culture heritage,” stated Valeria Uralskaya, editor in chief of the renowned magazine and a famous artist from Russia, in a letter sent to Carrillo Cabrera, who currently resides in the German capital.

Elisa Carrillo Cabrera is the first Mexican to receive the “Soul of Dance” award, which is rarely given to foreigners.
