Alexa Moreno wins bronze at FIG World Cup in Azerbaijan

The 24-year-old from Tijuana scored 14,429 points in the vault final

The Mexican gymnast Alexa Moreno has won the bronze medal in the vault finals at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The 24-year-old from Tijuana scored 14,429 points after qualifying with 14,233 and 14,266 points during her first performances.

American gymnast Jade Carey won first place and Oksana Chusovitina from Uzbekistán won second.

This is Moreno’s second medal at a world championship. In 2018, she also won a bronze medal in Doha.

The Mexican athlete also won gold in the Mayagüez, Puerto Rico games in 2014 and in Veracruz in 2018.
