Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto confirmed the death of three compatriots and injuries to another during the shooting attack last Sunday in Orlando, Florida.
During a visit to Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo, he expressed that the incident could have been caused by hate, discrimination and homophobia.
"What's left after this regrettable incident is our condemnation, particularly, to those divisive expressions that generate confrontation and cause violence," he said.
As for the victims and their relatives, he said that the Mexican Consulate will "provide them with all the assistance they need."
