Popocatépetl volcano spews 72 exhalations

According to the last report of the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), 72 long period events were registered by the monitoring system of Popocatépetl volcano, the most important occurred yesterday at 5:12 pm and 5:41 pm.

Two explosions were also registered, one of them yesterday at 3:21pm and the other today at 2:39 am.

One volcano-tectonic earthquake at 7:49am, and 34 minutes of low-amplitude tremor were registered today.

During the night it was observed incandescence over the crater.

At moment of this report, a continuous emission of steam and gas heading towards the northeast is observed.
