Popocatépetl volcano registers 88 LP earthquakes

According to the report of the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), the monitoring system of Popocatépetl volcano reported 88 long period earthquakes (LPs), some of them accompanied by steam, gas and ash, in the last 24 hours.

Six minutes of low-amplitude harmonic tremor were also recorded.

At the time of this report, the volcano spews a continuous emission of steam and gas wich is heading to the east.
