The violence in the district of Iztapalapa has left another gruesome surprise to the people of Mexico City, with the discovery of a body with signs of torture burning inside a metal barrel, as reported by the authorities.
According to the Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City, the victim was handcuffed and had been subjected to torture and killed by strangulation.
The corpse, of a thin man between 25 to 30 years of age, was also set on fire inside the barrel.
The inhabitants of the Central de Abastos neighborhood reported a barrel on fire at 2:00 p.m. and the authorities discovered the body inside.
The Department of Public Security does not rule out the possibility that this new murder is related to the hanging of a body in a bridge in the same area just yesterday.
