Officers from the office of the Central Investigation Attorney for the Attention of Human Trafficking rescued 41 men, among them six teens 14 to 17, who were exploited in two rehabilitation centers in the district of Iztapalapa.

The victims, who went to those places to address their drug addiction, ended up cleaning pigs and doing masonry work up to 14 hours a day without a salary.

The Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City arrested in one of the premises Juan Martínez Malpica, who was apparently in charge of punishing the inmates, as well as José Alberto Somoza Tenorio, responsible for medications; Ricardo Monroy Herrera, watchman Alan Rojas Ramírez, or Alan Cabrera, and Carlos Alberto Villegas Primitivo, who was in charge of the place.

In another area, two individuals were released from exploitation and the police arrested Marco Antonio Ramírez Yañez, responsible for abuses against people supposedly being rehabilitated for drug and alcohol problems.

According to the victims, they were subjected to physical violence and threats while performing forced labor of bricklaying, plumbing and landscaping, as well as cleaning pigs.
