American Oscar-winner and Hollywood icon, Leonardo DiCaprio, expressed his concern for the fragile sustenance of the "vaquita" porpoise in his Instagram account earlier today.
DiCaprio's marine conservation stand is well-known as is his interest in the preservation of vulnerable wildlife and threatened ecosystems.
His interest led to the establishment in 1998 of The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, "dedicated to the long-term health and wellbeing of all Earth’s inhabitants."
The Hollywood star took the opportunity to urge Instagram followers to join his petition at the World Wildlife Fund and demand protection of the "vaquita" porpoise by the government of Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto.
