Another journalist killed in Veracruz

The State Commission for the Care and Protection of Journalists in Veracruz condemned the murder of reporter Manuel Torres González, occurred today in the northern area of the region.

Torres González was killed by a shot in the streets of the municipality of Poza Rica.

"We urge the ministerial authorities to carry out a diligent investigation for the clarification of the facts surrounding the murder of Manuel Torres, as well as the identification of all the perpetrators of this crime," expressed the journalists group.

Torres González was a collaborator of Televisión Azteca in Veracruz, the local Noroeste newspaper and the Noticias Radiover website in Xalapa.

He also recently opened the Noticias MT website.

The region where he was killed is one of the power bases of the Zeta cartel.
