There is a human rights crisis in Mexico, but only in some regions of the country, said Luis Raúl González Pérez, president of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) in response to the report of the Inter American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), noting that Mexico is experiencing a crisis of human rights violations.
Interviewed at the end of the launch of the National Campaign to Prevent Human Trafficking, González called on to consider the recommendations made by international agencies.
About the visit of the UN High Commissioner to Mexico, he said that it proves that the country is open to cooperate with international agencies, that “complement but do not substitute the national bodies.”
Roberto Campa, Human Rights Undersecretary of Mexico's Ministry of Interior, said that the disappearance of the 43 teachers in training of Ayotzinapa does not reflect the reality of Mexico as a whole.
In an interview with Carlos Loret de Mola, Campa explained that Attorney General Arely Gómez will announce in the coming days how to address the recommendation made by the Inter American Commission on Human Rights to make the Deputy Attorney for Human Rights responsible for the investigation and appoint a special prosecutor for the case.
