The Minister of the Interior, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, expressed that in the next few days the authorities will present an official response to the request from the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) for the Ayotzinapa case, in regard to an interview with members of the Mexican Army.
On May 20, Osorio Chong rejected any chance that experts from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) investigating the Ayotzinapa case had an interview with members of the 27 Infantry Battalion headquartered in Iguala, which according to the parents of the teachers in training were involved in the disappearance of their children.
Back then, Osorio Chong said that there is not a single incident involving the military forces in the attack against the students of the Raúl Isidro Burgos Teachers School in Ayotzinapa, carried out by the municipal police of Iguala and Cocula, Guerrero, on September 26.
Today, however, after meeting with the panel of experts appointed by the IACHR, Osorio Chong promised an official response in the next few days.
