German vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen is planning to invest USD $658 million in their plant in Puebla to improve their facilities for the production line of the Jetta A7 .
All the way from Wolfsburg in Germany, Puebla Governor, José Antonio Gali Fayad, has detailed his administration is currently collaborating in the training of the personnel who will be involved in the manufacture of the new model.
As part of the tour in Europe of the special commission of the National Governors' Conference (CONAGO), Gali Fayad stated that his administration has also launched a scholarship outline to boost job creation in his state.
The meeting took place between the Minister of Competitiveness, Labor, and Economic Development, Jaime Oropeza Casas, and the Head of International Policy for External Relations and Government Relations at Volkswagen, Jens Hanefeld, as well as Stefan Loth, plant manager and head of vehicle production in Wolfsburg.
In 2017, Puebla had the largest vehicle production in its history, manufacturing 49.5% more units – 619, 798 – than in 2016.
According to a statement, Puebla's Government is committed to securing future investments with Volkswagen and will during the tour, the Puebla delegation will also meet with Audi AG executives, whose plant is also located in this center-state.
