The Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) in Michoacán said they seized a Bengal tiger (Panthera Tigris) in the municipality of Parácuaro.
The Apatzingán police found the 4-year-old female tiger abandoned in a cage while conducting surveillance rounds.

The police of the State of Michoacán in coordination with Profepa as well as zoo staff sedated and transported the feline to the "Benito Juárez" Zoo in Morelia.

According to the report of the zoo, the Bengal tiger shows sings of malnutrition and dehydration and will need treatment.
