Demonstrations cause chaos in Mexico City

Mexico City Public Security Department (SSPDF) announced that several demonstrations are affecting traffic in different areas of the capital city.

On Twitter (@OVIALCDMX) authorities announced that circulation is closed on Vasco de Quiroga near Roberto Medellín on the Mexico City-Toluca highway, as well as on Paseo de los Tamarindos near Bosque de Tabachines, around Carlos Echanove and on Prolongación Paseo de la Reforma near Avenida de los Poetas.

Another group of demonstrators blocked circulation on Reforma near the Revolution Monument and around Eje 2 Norte. Another protest took place near the Angel of Independence Monument while police tried to stop a group of taxi drivers that were heading towards Mexico City main square known as Zócalo to complain about the new car services Uber and Cabify.

Finally, two lanes of Calzada de Tlalpan near Xola subway stations were blocked as well as a section of Eje Central near Río Churubusco.
