Chihuahua mourns Miroslava Breach Velducea

U.S. ambassador to Mexico, Roberta Jacobson, urged that violence against journalists does not remain unpunished

The prominent 54-year-old journalist received four shots at point-blank outside her home in northwestern state of Chihuahua.
Breach Velducea was leaving home, to apparently take her son to school this morning, when unkown assailants shot her to death.
State governor Javier Corral Jurado, said that the journalist had received death threats in recent days that went unreported. In the picture Corral Jurado is seen at exclusive El Cid golf course last weekend in Mazatlán Sinaloa, when at least 14 people where killed in the state under his rule.
The plenum of the Mexican Senate in Mexico City observed a minute’s silence for Breach Velducea’s decease, while Patricio Martínez García, from the Institutional revolutionary Party (PRI) and a senator for Chihuahua, said that Breach Velducea was a journalism professional with an ideological conviction of great depth.
State governor, Javier Corral Jurado, has declared a three-day mourning in Chihuahua for the highly respected journalist. He added that the main line of investigation for the crime is linked to Breach Velducea's journalistic work covering organized crime.
