Will AMLO let lawmakers take Saturdays off?

We've been told that the fight between the opposition and the majority at the lower chamber won't be as bad on Monday and Tuesday because the changes made to the Republican Austerity Law , bureaucrats won't have to work on Saturdays , paved the way for the bill. Anyway, Morena and its allies have nothing to worry about because they have enough votes to pass the bill without the need to reach agreements. Now, the main issue is that President López Obrador could reject the changes because as you might remember, he said all bureaucrats would work on Saturdays. Therefore, some Morena lawmakers are worried the President might not approve of the proposal and they might have to backtrack.

Rosario Robles has a meltdown

We've been told Rosario Robles , a former government official , had a meltdown on social media because she considers that people don't recognize the effort made by the Sedatu to rebuild some areas of Oaxaca that were devastated by the 2017 earthquake . We've been told that on Sunday, when the President was visiting the state, Governor Alejandro Murat posted a message on Twitter saying that he acknowledged the support the state was receiving from the President to rebuild Oaxaca , which prompted the former head of the Sedatu to complain, she said that “since September 2017, you and I were witnesses and worked together on it or you don't remember that?” on Twitter. The tweet was deleted a few minutes later. Did Rosario Robles calm down and did someone else suggested she delete it?

The Zacatecas Governor has something to say

We've been told that today, the Zacatecas Governor will take advantage of the presence of President López Obrador in a meeting of the National Governor's Conference ( Conago ) to issue a complaint. We've been told that the Governor will reveal that although the current administration cancels the mining fund that allocated money to municipalities where this activity takes place, the resources are being used but not in the mining areas . It might be time for an investigation since the current government claims it will fight corruption .

Who will lead the INE

Today, the lower chamber will appoint the heads of the Internal Control Bodies from different public departments, including the National Electoral Institute (INE ). We've been told that in the case of the INE , there are some contenders who fill all the legal requirements , nevertheless, lawmakers will have to decide if they want a politician or a technician. We've been told that the current comptroller , Jorge de Anda has both political and technical abilities and he showed lawmakers his results, knowledge, and 8 years of experience in that body. Nevertheless, we will see if the appoint someone with experience or if they chose someone to use the body as a political tool . We will see.
