UNAM proposes 3.4% salary pay increase to academics

The initiative will be brought to academics so it can be analyzed and eventually approved

The National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ) offered its workers of the Autonomous Associations of Academic Personnel of the UNAM ( AAPAUNAM ) a salary pay increase of 3.4% guaranteed for the period between February 19, 2018 , and January 31, 2019 .

, UNAM's administrative secretary disclosed that this salary pay increase is “the best deal that could be obtained, according to the economic conditions that Mexico is facing," he explained in a bulletin.

In the Incentive Program for Productivity and Performance of the Academic Personnel per Course , a 10% salary pay increase was offered while a 3.4% increase was proposed for academic work recognition per course and academic improvement.
