PRI: sick and almost extinct in its 90th anniversary

Today, the PRI is celebrating its 90th anniversary as a party but its birthday arrives during a time when the political party is having a crisis that has made it seriously ill and the prognosis is poor . It has now become the third political force in the country and although it's the p arty with the most Governors, 12 , its image and credibility crisis threatens its power over many of these states, where Morena is now a majority in the local congresses. A sign of this crisis and the imminent internal process to renew its leadership is the facts that a group has repudiated the arrival of Enrique Peña Nieto , the former President , to the National Political Counci l and it's even asking for his expulsion. This way, with the same fractures and divisions that cost them the presidency , the old party is gravely ill in its 90th birthday.

The Well-being Ministry is adding insult to injury as parents are angrier with the decision to change the way in which the daycares program worked. They say that the ministry, led by María Luisa Albores , first canceled the program and now they are consulting parents about their opinion about the quality of the service. We obtained a copy of the survey Morena members are using to surveying the beneficiaries and one of the questions that have bothered the most is: “How would you rate the care your child has received in this daycare?.” The parents, who will receive financial aid from the federal government, feel insulted as they claim their opinion was left at the end when it seems like the government's decision won't be reversed and several daycares will close.

Taxi drivers boo Governor

Yesterday, during President López Obrador's visit to Baja California Sur, the Governor, Carlos Mendoza Davis (PAN) , was booed during a public event. Nevertheless, we've been told that in contrast with other times when Governors have been booed, the booing came from a group of taxi drivers from Los Cabos , who are upset about the Mobility Bill proposed by the Governor . Among other things, the bill opens the market to platforms such as Uber . The President is returning to Baja California Sur in three months and we will see how the Governor is treated by people.

A great opportunity for the UNAM

We've been told that today, an agreement between the UNAM and the Mexican Association of Pharmaceutical Laboratories will become official. The agreement will allow linking the pharmaceutical industry to the medical researches carried out by the UNAM and prevent these from being archived and forgotten. The agreement looks to incorporate these research projects and turn them into drugs to be commercialized.
