Mexico’s FIC 2018 will feature Indian culture and folklore

Choreographer Asheley Lobo





has committed himself to raise the curtain at the International Cervantino Festival of Guanajuato (FIC) with the show “ A passage to Bollywood ” which recreates a film on stage, featuring India’s traditional music, dance, and colors

The show will take place at the 46th edition of FIC , on the night of Wednesday, October 10, at 20:00 hours local time . “It will be like bringing a piece of India to Mexico , a slice of our ancient culture,” he stated.

This Thursday , during a press conference through Skype , the choreographer and director of the Danceworx & Navdhara India Dance Theatre , mentioned that it was “an honor and a great responsibility to transmit some of the most popular dances and musical scenes from India’s movie industry.”

He commented that the story is about a young man who leaves his hometown to seek fortune in Mumbai . In the big city, he finds love, friendship, and a series of obstacles. Asheley Lobo stated that “A passage to Bollywood” featured a unique combination of western dancing styles with a spiritual philosophy.

The 46th edition of the International Cervantino Festival will take place from October 10 to 28 with a program that includes 195 shows and 327 performances of Opera, classical music, dance, theater, street shows, galleries, and academic activities . This year, India will be Mexico’s guest of honor.
