Mexico City announces new 3-year contract with Formula 1

Tomorrow, Mexico City will sign a new contract for three more years with the International Automobile Federation regarding the Mexican Grand Prix

Mexico City’s mayoress Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo

announced that Formula 1 will stay in Mexico City and tomorrow they will sign a three-year contract with the International Automobile Federation .

“This is thanks to a group of businessmen who made this possible, because this time, Mexico City is not investing any public resources,” she explained.

Through a video on her Twitter account, the mayoress said that the F1 event attracts tourism and brings revenues .

From the start of her administration, Sheinbaum informed that neither the federal nor the local government would give the money assigned by the previous administration for this kind of event to take place, which is about MXN $400 million .
