In an online news briefing, which was also attended by the members of Nervo and Dimitri Vegas, in addition to Michiel Beers, the founder of the festival, the main artists said that “nothing of this kind has ever be done.”

Moreover, this renewed festival caused by the coronavirus pandemic “will determine the way in which digital concerts will be held in the future.”

“I admire and respect the way in which the festival has adapted to what’s going on in an innovative and resilient way. For me, this is a way to transform this disaster into something beautiful,” said Perry, who will be part of the EDM festival for the first time.

“I’m really excited to finally be able to be part of this group. I had wanted to participate for so long,” said the singer, who revealed that her show will feature a 15-minutes long medley with her top hits but “with new sounds based on disco and very danceable.”

Perry, who is at the last stage of her pregnancy and connected from her home in Los Angeles, confirmed that she will also sing at least two songs from her new álbum “Smile,” that launches next August.

For his part, Aoki announced that his show will have a strong Latino accent: “I’m going to include a versión of my song with Maluma, my song with Daddy Yankee, and my song with Farina, Darell, Play-N-Skillz, and more,” he said.

Pre-recorded shows

Meanwhile, Beers explained that those who had already purchased their tickets for the digital Tomorrowland will be able to see a 3D version of the stages that had been originally designed for the festival that expected over 40,000 EDM fans in Belgium.

“When we make the planning, we develop everything in 3D, so we already had the computer versión of it,” said Beers when he explained how they were able to créate, on barely two months, such a complex world as the one the audience will be able to see.

Two videos to which EFE had access show how a kind of interconnected islands was digitally created; spectators will be able to go near them according to the stage they want to see.

Artists have already recorded their shows and the Tomorrowland team was in charge of uniting them for the digital experience.

Artists who are audience

Guetta, who joined the news briefing from the boat he shares with this family, said he will enjoy the unprecedented experience of being an artist and spectator at the same time.

“I’m dying to see the digital reaction of the people,” he said and sent a caring message for his “people in Latin America and Spain” in Spanish.

Amazing lineup

Tomorrowland’s first digital edition will feature legendary artists like Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Tiêsto, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, Afrojack, and Timmy Trumpet, as well as other 50 DJs.
