Mexican company Galdisa opens new plant in Texas

The Mexican company Galdisa , which makes snacks and peanut products, will inaugurate its first processing plant in the United States on Friday , in the city of Conroe, north of Houston, Texas .





The sales office and the plant occupy an area of almost 47,000 square feet within the Conroe Park North industrial park .

These facilities, which will employ 25 people , will be added to another nine plants of the company in Mexico , and it intends to serve the US and Canadian markets with peanut-based products.

Galdisa and its subsidiary Galdisa USA process peanuts, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, and other products for use in the food industry. Its products are used in peanut butter, granola bars and other snacks and foods.

"Galdisa USA is an excellent addition to Conroe Park North and we are delighted to see its plant officially open," said Conroe’s Economic Development Council Executive Director, Danielle Scheiner .

"It has been a pleasure to meet the Galdisa family and see the construction of their latest generation facilities. Galdisa and the city of Conroe will benefit from this partnership," he said.

The Mexican company said that the plant incorporates the latest technologies in food processing and will be subject to U.S. food safety standards, to ensure the best conditions and practices are put in place to preserve the product’s quality and health.
