In recent years, scientists have been studying the therapeutic properties of aloe vera .

The use of aloe vera goes back 6,000 ago in Egypt, Greece, China, Japan, and Mexico .

According to the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health , aloe vera has been used for a variety of purposes, including the treatment of wounds , hair loss , hemorrhoids , and as a laxative .

The agency explains that two substances from aloe vera , the clear gel , and the yellow latex , are used in health products today. Aloe gel is applied to the skin as a remedy for skin conditions such as burns, frostbite, psoriasis , and cold sores , but it may also be taken orally for conditions including osteoarthritis, bowel diseases , and fever . Aloe latex is taken orally, usually for constipation .

-Healthy teeth

A study published by General Dentistry explains that adding aloe vera to toothpaste is effective in the fight against cavities and beneficial for gums . The aloe gel is effective in the control of oral bacterias that cause cavities.

-Constipation

The German agency in charge of regulating herbs approved the use of aloe vera for the treatment of constipation .

-Healing

A study from India's Sinhgad College of Pharmacy and published by the International Wound Journal analyzed aloe 's ability to treat ulcers and it was concluded that it encouraged wound healing .

-Perfect skin

Aloe

has a great effect on the skin and keeps the skin moisturized . It also has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

-Burn injuries

A team of surgeons told the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association that the wounds , caused by burns , that were treated using aloe vera cured quicker than the wounds treated with silver sulfadiazine (INN) , a common treatment for second-degree burns .

-Irritable bowel syndrome

Hospital St. George's Medical School

researched aloe and concluded that it is beneficial for patients suffering from diarrhea or irritable bowel syndrome .

-Depression

A study published by the Nutritional Neuroscience journal found that aloe vera reduces depression , improves learning , memory in mice . Scientists are carrying out more studies to confirm if aloe has the same benefits in humans .
