Gabriel Quadri vs. the President

Former presidential candidate Gabriel Quadri may never win an election, but he would win a meme competition. Quadri took to social media to call on politicians to join him to "defeat the regime that is destroying the country." Gabriel Quadri made the petition to unlikely allies such as Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas, Diego Fernández de Cevallos, Felipe Calderón, Margarita Zavala, Enrique Krauze, and Ernesto Zedillo. None of them responded to his request; however, social media users mocked him and created several memes.

19 contenders want to lead Morena

Sources said there could be up to 19 contenders to lead Morena , the ruling party. So far, the National Electoral Institute (INE) has registered 16 contenders and it will register three more today. Insiders said there are five main contenders: Porfirio Muñoz Ledo, Mario Delgado, Yeidckol Polevnsky, Alejandro Rojas-Díaz Durán, and Javier Hidalgo. The battle to lead the political party is going to be a tough one.

Mario Delgado brought his fans to the INE

The National Electoral Institute (INE) gave into Mario Delgado ’s request. The electoral institute has been working virtually since April, and the media is not allowed into its offices due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Delgado asked INE authorities to allow his supporters and the media to enter the INE offices when he finally registered as a contender to lead Morena. So the lawmaker forgot all about physical distancing.

The 2021 budget will lead to a fight

After ten governors left the Conago , Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca said the state governments that provide the most taxes to the federal government are looking forward to taking a look at the 2021 budget. Governors are aware that there will be budget cuts next year. However, Cabeza de Vaca called on lawmakers to fight at the lower chamber and defend their states. Since the federal government announced the 2021 budget will be austere, you can expect a battle.
